By Dr. Sirisha Potluri MD

3 ingredient chocolate fudge😋😋😋
1 cup pitted dates
1 cup raw pumpkin seeds ( soaked for few hours in water and drained )
Vegan dark chocolate chips ( approximately 1 cup) enough to spread on the date and pumpkin seed mixture
Vanilla extract for flavor ( I didn’t have it at home so didn’t use )

In a food processor , mix the pumpkin seeds and dates until they form like a ball. Spread this mixture in a rectangular or square container lined with parchment paper.

Now double boil , the chocolate chips , if it’s too thick use a table spoon of plant milk . Now pour this melted chocolate on the dates and pumpkin seed slab , evenly . Now freeze it for few hours , before cutting into pieces. It tastes like chocolate fudge 😋😋😋

Store them in freezer , they taste better .

Health Benefits:

Tryptophan which is precursor of Serotonin the (Happy Hormone), is plentiful in plant foods.

The secret to naturally boosting serotonin levels in the brain may include eating foods such as pumpkin seeds, with a high tryptophan-to-total protein ratio. This may help explain why studies show that those eating plant-based diets have superior mood states.

Pumpkin seeds are a good source of Magnesium, along with other plant foods like nuts ,greens and vegetables .
High blood levels of magnesium were associated “with an almost 40% reduced risk” of sudden cardiac death, and “women in the highest compared with the lowest [quarter] of dietary and [blood] magnesium had a 34% and 77% lower” risk of sudden cardiac death, respectively
